Let It Go

I have found some fun new (for me, at least) music, and I thought I should share! Tim Halperin has this piano-heavy Coldplay/Ben Folds thing going on. And a super sexy beard. The beard is important. You should check him out. In more ways than one (wink, wink, nudge, nudge.)

I got pictures taken for a passport yesterday. Now all I need is a passport. And somewhere to go. Anywhere.

Happy weekend, all!

Thought Balloon

One of my new favorite etsy shops, Soft Spoken, is having a giveaway! I have become obsessed with fun head accessories, and just recently ordered this little pretty. I can't wait until it comes in! Photos will surely follow.

Ugly Side

So, I finally presented Corban with his Valentine's gift last night. I'm not usually late on stuff like this, but we all drop the ball at some point, right? Anywho, I got him this fabulous Stargate Journal from Owl Bindery, and a really funny card from Pretty Messes. The journal came with a surprise bonus- an Alice in Wonderland pendant! How fun!

Today I plan to get up off my butt and get some stuff done. We'll see how it goes. :)

One World (Not Three)

I just had to share the greatest spontaneous gift that I have ever received.

Silent Monster2

Is she not the most fabulous doll you have ever seen!? And she is handmade...what talent!!! Many many thanks to my good friend Christy for her thoughtfulness and generosity! :)

I am very excited for tonight, because I get to give a gift! I will not elaborate so as not to ruin a good surprise, but I promise to post pictures later.

Happy Wednesday, all.

Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This

Daddy, kthnxbai, Burgandy?, and Jap. Chad and Corban refused to be silly with us.

Taking into account all the chili and queso from the Super Bowl, our official Valentine's dinner on Wednesday, and our steak dinner at home last night, Corban and I are working on some serious food babies. Time to bust out some free weights and crunches!

This is super belated, but I wanted to share some photos from the Super Bowl.

Kiss From A Rose

This will be obligatory "snow" post.

Yesterday I busted out the old Sony Cybershot and had some fun walking around Addison Circle in the falling snow. I haven't done that in years, and it was a really wonderful experience.

Every now and then, Dallas just needs 11 inches of snow. :)

Remember, tonight is the big "Valentine's Day Is..." show at Dunn Bros Beltline. Live music, local art, and friendly artist-types! What more can you ask for? Shenanigans begin at 8 and go until 10.30; I'll be there around 8, so come by and say hi!

**PS- I didn't get any good shots of the mister and I in our fancy pants finery, so you'll just have to imagine. Suffice it to say that we had a really great time.

Don't Want No Paper Gangsta

For The Love Of Toast

The Great Escape

I have also finished my piece for the Valentine's Day Is...(2) show on Friday. (follow the link and you will see my name in the list! eek!) But, you can't see this fabulous piece of artistic genius unless you come to the show. Hah! Yessir, I am keeping this one to, incentive! There will apparently be live music and other fabulous spectacle, so it will definitely be worth getting out in the cold weather. :)

Tonight my hunny is taking me out to a fancy pants Valentine's Day dinner at Abacus. I will be freezing my po-tooty off in a tiny little sexy dress, and I can't wait! Hopefully I'll remember to snap a few pictures for you guys.

Happy hump day!

It's Good To Be In Love

Plus One Half

Star Five

I have been planning to do some Mario fan art for some time now, and I was so excited to finally be in a position to do it! I'm pretty sure that I originally sketched this one sometime early last year. I have also finished up a piece as a super belated birthday gift for my best friend. That's right, Ashley, a pretty something will be coming your way soon!

This is also super belated, but I wanted to post about a craft swap (organized by Kate of Skunkboy Creatures fame) that I participated in last month. I was paired with Melanie of Grey Moogie, who makes the cutest letter press/stationary ever. Here are the goodies that she sent me!

And this is the watercolor that I sent her, titled No Evil The First.

Remember, there are lots of items that have been discounted in the shop that will not be re-listed once they expire! Now it is time for a little home-made-cookie-and-milk break. Happy Friday, one and all!

Lots of painting has been happening this week. I'm starting to get used to this whole unemployment thing. ;)

Every Rose Has Its Thorn

I have made good on my promise of a huge, massive, SALE. I'm not adding to the Fifty Nifty or FF vs LB series', so I think that it is time to clear what I can out of the studio and focus on some newer concepts. As much as I feel that each piece is a little part of myself, I am definitely ready to move on. Go to the sale section of my shop to view the new lowlowlow (20%-60% off) prices!

I forgot to mention earlier that I will probably not re-list these sale items once their etsy listings expire (in about four months), so as the car salesmen say, these deals won't last forever. Once they expire, I will not put them up for sale again, so get while the getting is good!

Late Night Harmony

My finger is still all stitched up and horrible, but I feel like I'm getting my mojo back, so I have been working on some fun new pieces! I plan to participate in the upcoming "VDay Is..." themed art show organized by the Kunstallationists at the Dunn Bros on Beltline and Midway!

Exciting! One of my goals for 2010 is to show my work outside of my own little makeshift "home studio," and this is a perfect opportunity! If you can make it, you should definitely come out and support local art. What could be better than fun art and friendly baristas? Feb 12 from 8 to there!

There has definitely been a marked shift in my work the past few months, and I am ready to be out with the old, so to speak. So, I am planning to set up a huge sale in my shop in the next few days. I know I already kind of did, but I'm thinking that I am going to bump it up to epic status. So, stay tuned.
